i am leaving bangkok tonight, getting the train to the south of thailand and then will be catching a boat to ko pha ngan, the raver's paradise. i've already checked and there's a psy trance night on tomorrow, you can bet i'm going!!! i hope i meet some people on the way, i've been told that's what usually happens... so i can find people to party with, i'm sure it won't be a problem, it seems like it's all people do on the islands (moon party anyone?).
i was feeling a bit lonely here in bangkok; people haven't talked to me much so i've mostly gone around and seen sights, which consist of... a lot of a shopping places, basically. lol. found it very hard to resist temptation - i've only bought a couple of things and two books, which i'm guessing will be much needed in sumatra! you think there are any english bookshops in banda aceh? erm. can't decide whether i should buy tampons before going. LOL. will think about it. ;)
i've decided i will come to bangkok for a week or so before my flight back in february; i definitely still have things to see... i've tried not to do too much during these three days, especially because i'm not feeling great at the moment - a combination of different food, hot and humid weather, pollution, time change... i just don't want to get ill now so i'd rather do stuff without hurrying when i come back. plus i will do some SERIOUS shopping then. the weekend market is packed with young designers selling wicked clothes for 2, 3, max 5 dollars... and shoes! and bags! and i'm not talking about your usual hippy stuff, this is camden-style clothing... mmmmh. can't wait. i'm such a girl. :)
i'm trying to decide where i should go after indonesia; i mean, i have time to think about it but still... i will be spending a week in vietnam and maybe laos with my parents at some point; someone has also recommended malaysia to me for the beautiful scenery, etc. not sure whether i'll be able to see more of indonesia since my visa runs out after two months... and i would also like to see chiang mai in the north of thailand and possibly cambodia - a lot of countries ah? but then i can do a lot in those six or seven weeks i will have in january and february.
i think i'm very slowly getting the hang of this... and loving it, really loving it. bangkok is amazing, i'd recommend it to anyone; and i'm sure where i'm going tomorrow will be amazing too...
so, this is all from me from the other side of the world to home... :)

Version

Because a picture is worth a thousand words, and I cannot describe my life better than a picture can.
And because my heaven is here, I'll wrap the world around it and live in a cocoon. Quoting from a favourite song, 'Letting the cables sleep' by Bush, in its incarnation as a remix. And I do wish the friend who introduced me to the song was here to see the way things turned out.
The photos used on this site were all taken by me and can be found on my Flickr account.
