yes they can

I can't help but feel like change is possible, not just in the US, but in the rest of the world too. It gives me hope, and maybe, as my friends say, I'm being naive, but... I can't help but appreciate the fact that last night, Americans elected their first black man. And as N said, that fact alone means something, something huge.
It might not come across here, but I am strongly-minded when it comes to politics, and even though I recognise all American politicians are much further to the right than I am, this is a good thing. And it can only be better than what we've had for the last eight years. 'We' because I do very much believe what happens in the US affects all of us...
Today is a good day. Last night history was made, and I'm really so fucking happy the new US president-elect is Barack Obama.

Version

Because a picture is worth a thousand words, and I cannot describe my life better than a picture can.
And because my heaven is here, I'll wrap the world around it and live in a cocoon. Quoting from a favourite song, 'Letting the cables sleep' by Bush, in its incarnation as a remix. And I do wish the friend who introduced me to the song was here to see the way things turned out.
The photos used on this site were all taken by me and can be found on my Flickr account.
